Kick Sack Tlachtli

Kick Sack Tlachtli
Kick Sack Tlachtli is played like traditional Tlachtli except for the kick sack. There is a penalty pit that act as the center court, and there are two hoops, about 6 ft. high, at the ends of the penalty pit. Each team’s court is 20 ft. x 20 ft. Teams consist of 1-4 players.
Play begins with one team kicking the sack from the back of it’s court over the penalty pit and into the opposing teams court. The sack must be returned within four kicks two kicks (we modified this to keep the action and element of chance in play). Points are scored when a team fails to return the sack to the opposing teams court, as in volleyball. If a player is fortunate enough to pass the sack through either hoop, it is an automatic win and that player receives M.V.P status plus rewards. A loss of point occurs when the sack lands in the penalty pit.

This game is very easy to get started in, but hard to walk away from. I have seen novices go from crooked kickers to scoring strikers in about an hour. The action gets fast and competitive.
