Five Generations in Aztlan

Friday, November 30th, 2007

In the 1800’s my Great Grandfather & Great Grandmother met in Xucshon, Aztlan (Tucson,AZ). He was from Ures, Sonora and she was from Hermosillo, Sonora. My Grandmother was born on what is now known as the San Xavier Reservation on March 3rd, 1912. This was about 2 weeks after Arizona became a state. My Grandmother, or Nana Carmen as we called her, was the youngest of her siblings. Nana Carmen’s family left the reservation and settled in what is now called the City of South Tucson. This is where my Mother and her sisters were born. They all lived in a house along with their cousins.
I was, also, born in Xucshon and as a kid I remember Tohono O’Odam Pow Wow’s, Yaqui Easter Fariseos, and Mexican Dia de La Virgen Celebrations. I remember jabbing at the fruit on the tops of the Sahuaro cactus to make jam, and I remember turning the corn grinder when it was time to make tamales. I have memories of all the bad things that happen in the barrios, but there are others that write volumes on that side of life.
My children were born here and my grandchild will be born here. My niece had a baby boy 2 years ago here in Xucshon. So I guess my point is…

We didn’t cross the border, the border crossed us!

Sonoran Death March

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

Washington says Fortify, So they’re pushed to the desert to burn and die!

They cross jagged canyons filled with rattlesnakes, Watch their children start to bake!

It’s not even worth the wage they make, Just to cook your f*ckin’ steak!

Thousands of soldiers try to keep them out, What’s this madness all about??

It’s not terrorists or the Taliban, Just millions of Mexicans!

High speed chase, spikes in place, mangled bodies on the interstate!

Mexican Migrant saves lost boy in desert

Sunday, November 25th, 2007

Jesus Manuel Cordova,26, from Magdalena de Kino, Sonora, Mexico was walking into Aztlan on Thanksgiving Day when he came across a wandering 9 year old boy. The boy had been camping with his mother when their minivan slid off the road and over a cliff. The woman was trapped in the wreckage, but her son freed himself to go look for help. That is when Jesus Cordova found him scared and disoriented. They went back to the vehicle but were unable to free the mother. She later died. The area was off a forest service road and nightfall prevented them from finding any assistance. Jesus made a bonfire and gave the boy his jacket. In the morning they came across a group of hunters and the authorities were called. When Santa Cruz County Sheriff Dept. and U.S. Border Patrol arrived the boy was taken to the hospital and Jesus was deported. (Click azstarnet for the whole story)

Cuauhtemoc’s Secret

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

Cuauhtemoc, the last Mexica Tlahtoani (Emperor), was captured by the invading Spaniards on August 13th, 1521. Soon after, he was interrogated and tortured regarding the vast stockpiles of Mexica gold.  Despite having his feet covered in oil and burned, it is said that Cuauhtemoc never revealed the location of the hidden inheritance. In a vain attempt to locate the lost treasure the Spaniards forced the surviving Mexica to drain Lake Texcoco and dismantle the city. We may now be on the verge of unlocking the mystery of the missing bounty.

In October of 2006, a giant monolith was uncovered in the heart of Mexico City. In August of 2007, it was reported that the monolith may mark the entrance to Ahuizotl’s Tomb. Ahuizotl was Cuauhtemoc’s father and the last Mexica Tlahtoani to die with the kingdom intact.
Did the Spaniards already loot the tomb or was this Cuauhtemoc’s Secret?

La Virgen De Guadalupe-Patron of the Persecuted

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

Lets look at the facts. Bishop Zumarraga never mentioned the apparition. Wouldn’t this have been the pinnacle of his career, and his chance for sainthood? Father Sahugun who commissioned the Florentine Codex did not want us praying to her. He believed we were praying to Coatlicue.

If you know the story of the Birth of Huitzilopochtli it says a ball of feathers came down from heaven and Coatlicue placed it in her bosom. The image of the Virgen has the ball of feathers in her hands and is placing them in her bosom. The Mexica Constellations are contained in her cloak. The most obvious is the Tianquiztli, or Marketplace, on her left side. Western astronomers call this group of stars Pleiades.
The Nicanmopohua was the first book to mention the story of the Virgen De Guadalupe. It was written in Nahuatl and translates to “Here is written”. It is said that Juan Diego’s real name was Cuauhtlatolli(Eagle Talker), but according to Aztec Warfare by Ross Hassig, Cuauhtlatolli was a title. So Juan Diego was a leader and not the barefoot peasant portrayed in popular paintings. It is undisputed that the Virgen’s skin was brown and she spoke Nahuatl. Her Nahuatl name is Tonantzin which traditionally has been translated to “Our Revered Mother” To=our nan=mother tzin=revered. I believe that her name was actually “The Bound and Burned Sacrifice”. Ton=heated, an=sieze and tzin=sacrifice. During the Inquisition it was illegal under penalty of death to write about or discuss what was happening in Mexico. Most educated Mexicans were hung or burned. Some images from that time still exist and you can see the resemblances to La Virgen de Guadalupe. Her neck is elongated, her hands are bound, and she is tied at the waist. Can you see the similarities to this picture from the Inquisition?
Spanish Inquisition of Mexica What is the gold object sticking out from the bottom of La Virgen de Guadalupe’s gown? It is not her foot. The story of the fall of Tenochtitlan to the Spaniards says that as the survivors surrendered the Spaniards seized the best looking women for sex slaves and searched everyone for gold. Many young women disguised themselves as old ladies and hid their valuables under their garments.

There are many other clues hidden in the image. Could there be a slave collar around her neck? Are those flames on her gown? Is she standing on a Lunar Eclipse?

Unprecedented attack by Border Patrol on U.S. Citizens

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

The genie is out of the bottle!

As people around the world marked the 18th anniversary of the toppling of the Berlin Wall, peaceful demonstrators in Calexico, California were attacked in an unprecedented display of force by the U.S. Border Patrol (for footage click La Voz de Aztlan). Not since the times of the Arizona & Texas Rangers has this occurred. We have seen police departments around the country riot on demonstrators, but never a federal agency. If anyone know of another time that the Border patrol has blatantly attacked citizen protesters feel free to post a comment. This shows the Migra’s willingness to throw blows when it comes to their precious border. They have crossed the line into uncharted territory and have opened Pandora’s Box. Let me make a prediction right here that larger demonstrations along the Border will follow, and by the 20th anniversary of the collapse of the Berlin Wall the U.S/Mexico Border will be open. Yes indeed, the Migra has ignited a powder keg.

The footage shows that the Migra feared a Berlin Wall style assault on the fence. I salute the brave protesters that put their bodies on the line. Mexica Tiaui!

MIGRA OUT OF AZTLAN! BERLIN WALL STYLE!!

Democrat VS. Republican- Whoever wins…We lose!

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

Both major political parties in the U.S. have proven their allegiance to the status quo. They have all come out against any kind of amnesty for migrant workers, and they have all taken the position of increased border enforcement.

It is my opinion that if the privileged white woman(Clinton) wins we will go from a patriarchal White Power ruler to a  matriarchal White Power ruler.

Obama can break the White Power hold on the U.S. Government, but what is his plan on immigration?
The solution is:

VOTE FOR AZTLAN!  Where migrants are always welcome!

The Aztlan Alternative

Friday, November 16th, 2007
Azlan Times is creating a Virtual Aztlan Society similar to other virtual worlds found online. Here you will be able to visualize a world based on merit not credit, and it will provide a 3-D computer model of Self-Determination. We will build a Citizen’s Registry with real passports for members. One requirement for all valid passports is a barcode for scanning. These passports will have a barcode and they will be printed on traditional amatl paper. Many people from other countries now have dual citizenship so keep an open mind. We are working on the membership enrollment form and appreciate all input on this exciting opportunity. Please leave a comment if you have an opinion on this matter.

Is the U.S. Dollar the Mexican Peso of the 21st Century?

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

For the first time in 30 years the Canadian Dollar has surpassed the U.S. Dollar in value. Many currencies are now worth more than the U.S. Dollar, and People from all over the world are taking advantage of this buying power. Welcome to the third world, America. You earned it.

Self-rightous Isolationists have done more damage to the U.S. Economy than 12 million undocumented workers.  They are funding wars, walls and watchdogs while businesses struggle, employees are laid off and fuel prices skyrocket.  Many companies are moving their operations out of the U.S. due to the immigration and terrorism hysteria. Also, the severe shortage of students entering  engineering, science, and mathematics programs will compound the crisis in the next 10-20 years.  Soon the only U.S. export will be politicians, but who will want them?

Migra Out Of Aztlan! Berlin Wall Style!

Friday, November 9th, 2007

Today marks the 18th anniversary of 11/9. The day the Berlin Wall came down. On November 9th, 1989, thousands of people converged on the Berlin Wall and announced to the world that they were tired of the border. They rejected the wall of inhumanity that caused so much death and pain. They demanded an end to the separation of families and economies. Thousands stood up against the status quo to demand a change and the wall was dismantled piece by piece.

When I make the parallel to the U.S/Mexico Border I usually hear, “You will never get Mexicans to unite like that” or “The Berlin Wall kept people in”. But the fact is, they both sprung up from a line drawn in the sand by two competing military powers. Just like the Mexican Border, the Berlin Wall separated people of a common culture and common future.

Thomas Friedman, in his book The World Is Flat points out that 11/9 made the idea of a global economy a reality. Imagine what could be achieved with the free flow of ideas and commerce across the Southwest. The fear of terrorism has led to the cocooning of the American Economy, but just think of what is to emerge once the fearful are rejected by the brave. Yes, we know the history of the U.S/Mexico Border, but in the 21 Century the Border only exists to restrict trade. Demographically, the border has already moved north & east. I’m not talking about “Illegals” that can be deported. I am talking about U.S. Citizens of Mexican Descent. Read “Multiculturalism, Immigration, and Aztlan” by Prof. Maria Chang to get a glimpse of the future.
The Migra Out of Aztlan campaign started as the Million Mexican March that never materialized. Many felt that the Border affected all people not just Mexicans. So, I renamed it with dedication to the brave men and women that fought and won against the Berlin Wall, and to those that fight and will win against the U.S/Mexico Border.

“Migra Out of Aztlan…Berlin Wall Style”!
